Meghalaya’s UDP Fears Influx From Passenger Train But Welcomes Goods Train To Boost Byrnihat Economy

The United Democratic Party (UDP) on demographic detail estimates Meghalaya’s business centre Byrnihat is not equipped to confront influx with passenger train issuance in the region while they welcome the idea of goods line as it will boost its economy.

As mentioned by UDP general secretary Paul Lyngdoh on demographic basis the party is open to the idea of goods rail line development in Byrnihat’s border town as it can give it a possibility to become a business hub like Dimapur of Nagaland state. Influx due to passenger line may badly hit Barnihat’s ecological system and pollute the green environment of it.
