Central Government ‘Look East Policy’ Encourages Mizo Female Intellectuals For University Pursuit

To ease out the hurdles for Mizo female intellectuals to pursue studies in University level, the Union Minister of State for HRD Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey launched an amiable environment hostel near to Institute premises for ladies under ‘Look East Policy’ of central government.

The ladies hostel as a part of Northeast development scheme by central government was launched with multiple rooms facility hostel positioned near to the premise of Aizwal’s Mizoram University. This hostel which underwent with an expenditure of Rs 578.36 lakh from UGC (University Grants Commission) fund facilitates choice option of fifteen single rooms, thirty two double rooms and nine triple rooms.

Apart from the hostel there further infrastructure development process likely to occur by next year at the premises of Aizwal Mizoram University to enhance facilities for its staff and sports people.
