NRL and OIL to Engineer Guwahati as Eco-friendly City


In observation to growing waste and trigger of increase pollution from it, Himata Biswas Sarma initiated an Eco-friendly project deal with (Numaligarh Refinery Limited) NRL and Indian Oil Limited (OIL) fuel companies.

Guwahati Development Minister, Himanta is ready to pursue this project and map Guwahati as Eco-friendly city of India through effective technique of transferring waste to energy. Moreover waste has definite impact on climatic change as increasing quantity of it is hampering cleansing work, harmful chemical reaction and water drainage clog.

NRL, OIL and Guwahati Municipal Corporation companies are ones to engineer this economically sound major project effectively in the city. The government has granted 10 bigha area to these companies to pilot their project. MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) will be signed between the companies to initiate this waste-to-energy project in Guwahati.

It will be by 2017 this project is reported to go on floor. Estimate of Rs 12 crore will be indulged in this project by corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes and the companies.
