300 Environment Science Applicants Squeezed to Twelve Annually by Guahati University

Study on Environment has increased due to abnormal climatic changes, twelve seats in Guahati University is quite vague in comparison to its three hundred applicants annually.

In this wake of call to avail more seats for 2016-17 sessions due to increasing applicants, The All India Environment Science Student's association (AIESA) forwarded a memorandum to the Vice Chancellor of Guhahati University.

Among rest PG institutes of Assam only Guahati University avails twelve seats for M.Sc Environment Science Course, making the competition steep and disheartening to most.

Since 1980 this Environment Science department has extended from theoretical studies to research on meteorology, geophysics and pollution but unable to impart the education in large scale till 2015 is quite pathetic. Reality, today Assam is in the threat of environmental changes, just one flush of heavy rain can submerge entire Assam as experienced on July 7, 2016 flood and landslide havoc cases.
