Manipur government’s undertaking of royal property in Shillong, Meghalaya state that was acclaimed by Manipuri royal family will be used in political essence once it is transformed to ‘Manipur Bhavan’.
It is in an acre of 1.93 acre at Redlands, Laitumkhrah where the historic infrastructure was erected by a Manipuri Monarch Bodhachandra that most commonly known as Manipur Rajbari. The monarch Bodhachandra continued to stay in Shillong as per to the Manipur Merger agreement in September, 1949.
N Biren Singh is thankful towards Meghalaya government to allot the property for government purpose. It will be Manipur’s fourth Bhavan after New Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati.
