Arunachal Pradesh Brings Twin Hydro Hope

In the attempt to make the state potentially sufficient the Arunachal Pradesh government has intensified its move after couple of failure with numerous private developers by assigning the NEEPCO for twin power projects.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s government has assigned twin hydroelectric power projects the 90 MW New Melling HEP in Tawang district and 120 MW Nafra HEP in West Kameng with North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited.

As per to the MoA signed in 2015 for the installation of the 330 MW Kurung HEP will be undertaken by NEEPCO and will assist in local problems if erected during the progress of the power project. NEEPCO CMD has also assured immediate action in establishing the projects once everything is sorted out. 

From the initial six hydro projects to various companies by Arunacha Pradesh, NEEPCO has managed to snatch three power projects 110 MW Pare HEP, 405 Ranganadi HEP and 600 MW Kameng HEP.
