In the attempt to make the state potentially sufficient the Arunachal Pradesh government has intensified its move after couple of failure with numerous private developers by assigning the NEEPCO for twin power projects.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s government has assigned
twin hydroelectric power projects the 90 MW New Melling HEP in Tawang district
and 120 MW Nafra HEP in West Kameng with North Eastern Electric Power
Corporation Limited.
As per to the MoA signed in 2015 for the installation of
the 330 MW Kurung HEP will be undertaken by NEEPCO and will assist in local
problems if erected during the progress of the power project. NEEPCO CMD has
also assured immediate action in establishing the projects once everything is
sorted out.
From the initial six hydro projects to various
companies by Arunacha Pradesh, NEEPCO has managed to snatch three power
projects 110 MW Pare HEP, 405 Ranganadi HEP and 600 MW Kameng HEP.
