Sarma had encountered violent mob attack during his recent visit in West Bengal to cheer up its head Dilip Gosh
during his campaign.

Biswas Sarma was left unscathed though the convoy in which he was travelling with Dilip Gosh the West Bengal Bharatiya Janta Party head was badly damaged. Later after the unexpected violent episode the Minister Himanta expressed his anger and suspicion. For a long time a team of West Bengal Police had to circle a ring around Himanta to prevent any untoward incident from any attackers.
The mob attack is estimated to be
a part of TMC party’s engineering where entire 20 vehicles were damaged while
Assam Minister Himanta was returning with Dilip Gosh in a convoy. Chief
Minsiter Mamta Banerjee was questioned on government’s lapse in prompt action
against the rowdy crowd who had attacked the convoy carrying Dilip Gosh and Himanta Biswas Sarma.
