Health matters, Nagaland has cautioned with bold measure by
implementing strict action against the illegal practitioner
to protect consumer rights.
Even Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) had fallen into
serious court threat when a couple registered a case with the police for
selling to them expired drug by its pharma section.
Such act illegal activists for playing with consumer will be
nailed down under consumer act according to the President of the Nagaland
Voluntary Consumers Organisation (NVCO) Kezhokhoto Savi.
Strongly condemning NHAK act, Kezhokhoto pointed that NVCO won’t
tolerate expiry medicine supply. According to Kezhokhoto it is necessary for
consumer to become aware about their rights by taking measure to analyze on
product’s validity like reliable trade mark and brand, quality and quantity
details, MRP price tag to restrain from cheat, accurate weight and expiry date,
understand information labeled on goods, preserve cash memo and receipts
including documents.
Present scenario why the state government is failing to protect
consumer act and price rise is due to lack of observation on fund-raising action
like festive-season price hike, illegal money
demand at check gate, newspaper as mode of donation, allowance of sub-standard goods sale, fuel adulteration, etc.,
It is vital for the government to make consumer aware that they
worth what they are consuming from the day of their birth and avoid sealing
information and supply limitation.
