It
was quite an unusual sight inthis year’s 2017 U-18 AITA (ALL India Tennis
Association) competition held at Tensports Club, New Delhi from 7th
Aug -11th Aug where an untitled rank player from Assam known as Raina
Jaffer steadily stormed in each encounters with top seeded players before
defeating them for the covetous title.
Jaffar
may have the disadvantages for being an unseeded player and young at age but
that are not the matter of distraction and nervousness as far as her skills and
focus are concerned to help to ace past her tough ranked competitors.
Before
storming into the final against her tough rival the 3rd seeded Ishita Singh of
Delhi, she had passed effortlessly through the semi-final against the 7th
seeded Renee Singla (Haryana), Rithika Yadav (Delhi) at quarter finals and 4th
seeded Anu Mor (Haryana) in the pre-quarter before gripping the title.
