This year after Nepal, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd's Assam
refinery based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL)oil refiner-marketer has made
dramatic sales output of its heavy ends product like Paraffin Wax with
successful dispatch of 60 metric tones (MT)to Kenya from Kolkata port. Now with
growing volume of Paraffin Wax, NRL can steadily and strongly can take hold of
global market at large.
Mozambique and USA are next in the list for NRL Wax export as it has
become a reckoned brand name in the global market. Today in the domestic market
domain, NRL holds near to 60% market share for highest producer of wax. Demand
for wax lies not only in candle makings but equivalently serves the purpose
of food grade wrappers and in PVC pipe
manufacturing, rubber products, tyres, paints, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics,
polishes and tarpaulin sheets production.
This 50,000MT wax plant which was set up at worth of Rs 676 crore by
NRL Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun and Engineers India Limited in
March 2015 with genuine technology implant is popular for being nation's
biggest wax-producing unit. Its competitors like Indian Oil Corporation's
Digboi refinery and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd are also involved in
annual paraffin wax delivery in India.
According to the 'Hydrocarbon Vision 2030' for Northeast,India this
eastern belt of the nation has enormous contribution to position it as
important wax hub. The NRL mission ends
not only in wax distribution but also serving the nation appropriately with
futuristic plan for ancillary industries set up and drive out unemployment at
larger scale.
