Possibly In Future Liquor May Have To Make Small Entry In Assam As Highway Process Likely To End

Assam government’s new rule to ban liquor marketing by highways soon to take effect but before that the Supreme Court will have to make clearance on retailers plea on 3rd February and if the verdict goes against then they have to settle with small entrants.

Highways open door to wider scale liquor marketing with more profit frequency in comparative to core part of town and city due to which there will be a hearing at the Assam court on All Assam IMFL Retailers Association plea to look into ban impact as it will affect their business at large if range is selected within 500 metres from the state to national highways.

Under 1989 passed Section 2, Assam Highways Act the area around highway covers major public related places like street, lane, road or a foot-trade and even surfaces upon which commuters had made unauthorized route.
