Extremities of Life Overpowered Kalikho Pul but his Fight Stabilized Lives of Many

Born in a place severed from the rest of India at Walla Basti village near Hawai circle on July 20, 1969, the time was cruel on Kalikho Pul with extremities leaving him orphaned at tender age.

Natural disaster like flood and cloud burst often loomed over his homeland Hawai and once completely washed away his home. Till 1980 people could reach Hawai circle through trekking mode that took more than four days. Process of providing service to this land was through air dropping and airlifting in case of emergency. Pitiful plight of this region is that if one ails during rough weather condition then he is left to die as airlifting operation remains barred to shift patients to the required medical destination.

Fate had different road for him and made way for illumination out of dark phase of life by introducing headmaster Ram Naresh Prasad Sinha of Hawai Middle School to make his daily wage by working at the school premises.

Extremities of life had taught him to be sincere, focused and precise with his first job as carpenter at a very tender age which impressed the headmaster. Headmaster Ram made every possible attempt to turn Pul fully into studies instead of seeing him taking to nails and hammer.

This fierce fighter excelled in every platform he entered, be it sports, education or politics. He was a child blessed with multiple fine skills and fast adapt quality whose first emerge in 1995 as education minister by defeating Khapriso Krong paved way for success in each political campaign he made.

This humanitarian light changed the entire episode of the sleeping Hamlet, Hawai and brought hope to its residents by making it as a commercial hub centre. Ensured full facilities that any region requires for proper function at Hawai during Pul’s rise in ministry. What he got back from life he gave it back in abundance no doubt by building himself so strong under extreme condition but tough challenges of time finally blew off the light completely by trying to take off once again Pul’s die hard Chief Minister position.
