Olympic Stunner Dipa
Karmakar and Jitu Rai pass certification from Rajiv Khel Ratna panel of judges
who gave a big nod for the prestigious title in Indian sports.
Elated Dipa who
had started her career with success and strategic planning to qualify for
Olympic debut and win fourth position in it has made Tripura proud. Giving
hopes to the aspirant gymnasts of Northeast to succeed in this less traded
field by Dipa’s steadfastness to accomplish impossible dream.
Judgments which
were passed by the body of twelve member committee for Rajiv Khel Ratna award was
based on Dipa and Rai’s excellent performance in Rio Olympic.
This prestigious
title is bestowed on those who had given ace performance within four years span
at elite level of sports, which last year was won by much experienced top
ranked international badminton player Sania Mirza. The winner will be awarded
on National Day of Sports by the President Pranab Mukherjee with cash prize of
Rs. 7.5 Lakh on the end of this month, 29th August.
