International Delight French 'Ankiya Bhaona'

Taking to a new pulpit, the French team from the Institute Beliashe, Auvergne is inclined to take Srimanta Sankardev's play 'Ankiya Nat' globally after their successful attempt in Assam under the direction of Thespian Dalton Nikos.

As we know on 2nd January, 2016 at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati when the much awaited grand cultural event "Srimanta Sankardev 1st International Festival" came to live that was leveraged by French artists for global attention on the Assamese polymath.

Interestingly this Central France based theater troupe of contemporary artists had undergone tremendous training under B. Borbayan an expert in this domain. To help them give fine touch to their French enactment of Assamese version Ankiya Bhaona 'Parijat Haran.'

This mythological masterpiece 'Parijat Haran' is about Krishna's vanquish in stealing of the divine flower Parijat from the gardens of Indra after a fierce fight against the evil king Narakasura. Concept of stealing the flower by lord Krishna was to highlight on true love.

Complex conversion of this 15th century Brajvali language play to contemporary French language play was a challenging learning experience, Mattis Nikos who enacted as the Sutradhar of the play marked, "I have to memories my lines into two different languages. This has truly been a learning experience for me."

This French delve into Assamese cultural activities indicates long term bonding between the two worlds apart. Well all because of love for art and culture between the two different regions.
