In the attempt to make Meghalaya
a healthy state the government is prioritizing in medicinal sufficiency by
clubbing with Bureau Pharma PSUs (BPPI), India to help the region’s health
department to conduct phase wise quality and affordable drug counters in all
health centers under it.
This is one of the central based health
scheme under Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Aushadi Pariyojna mission where only the
state government run health centers will benefit. Implementation of such
health projects will ensure that all the government run health centers provide
generic or quality drugs only as per to the consignment made between the both
parties the Meghalaya government and the Bureau Pharma.
This is to ensure that under this
project the patients of government health centers are not only provided with
quality medicines but also provided at best affordable rates according to Sachn
Singh the CEO of the company who stated, “50 % cheaper under nationally listed
drugs. Currently there is availability of 326 drugs which will be dispatched within
48 hours to Meghalaya once after the order is received and is contemplating to
extent supply to the private health centers if they initiate to collaborate
with them.”
