Blanket ban followed after mass deaths of tea workers in Golaghat district due to consumption of high toxic content poisonous local liquor is now creating misery for sugarcane farmers as well as molasses producers.
100 plus sugarcane farmers for five consecutive days now take to stage on hunger strike in various parts of Assam like Hojai, Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts to protest against government’s decision to seal jaggery production centers.
