Assam A Potential Fish Producing Destination Still Has To Import


There is no lack of ideal water resources for fish farming but still Assam has to import similar fish types from different states of India because of lack of funding, manpower and training according to the official of state fishery department. 



Fishfed (Fish Marketing and Processing Federation Ltd) of Assam Apex Cooperative is reported to have not used proposed land of 500 bighas for fish farming. Mostly it is from Tokoubari, Kokadonga, Morikolong and Rupnagar allotted fish farming lands Fishfed generates aquatic food items whereas Silsako, Amaingaon, Topatoli and Kakodonga remains inactive in productivity.
