Tripura CM Biblap Kumar Deb Emphasize On Branding To Capture Bangladesh Market

Analyzing the necessity of getting tagged to claim fair recognition in Bangladesh market  the Tripura government is willing to launch logo for its products as its tea is highly demanding.

So that identity of Tripura tea brand is marked in the border market of Bangladesh. Today, Tripura takes the pride of having 58 active tea estates, 42 owned, 23 under cooperative societies with 3 under TTDC (Tripura Tea Development Corporation). Logo is a booster in building indigenous product’s market.

Tea is a 100 years old trade prevalent in Tripura without prior focus in its branding to capture greater market and garner extensive business profit for long decades. More than hundred years back Tripura's tea market evolved in Unakoti district at Hiracherra tea estate. Tea branding has become incumbent due to cross border tea auction centre in Bangladesh as the state has not built one yet.

It is under Srimangal Tea Auction centre in Bangladesh where Tripura can fetch the desired market price as the neighboring country bears supply shortage of tea products which on contrary is state’s biggest advantage. This issue has been forwarded to Union Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu and the Minister for External Affairs by CM Deb to probe into the matter to help flourish state's tea market.
