Sonowal in Social Welfare department where former Congress
members Akon Bora and Gautam Roy were quizzed for illicit handling of funds
including Ajanta Neog.
A case of dispatching 9 lakh for 15 years from welfare fund account for non-existent
children in Anganwadi Centres was highlighted by Chief Minister Sonowal
on to which vigilance has driven former Congress minister Ajanta Neog for
interrogation on to which she co-operated for two hours.
Still yet not much evidence have come to exposure against the suspected money launders involved
in Rs 2,250 corer scam in Social Welfare department by the Vigilance and
Anti-Corruption sleuths of Assam Police.
