Recently Kiren Rijiju Union
minister of state for home appeared perplexed that if Congress-led Manipur government
continues with their new idea of development by declaring Naga dominated Jiribam
as new district due to which United Naga Council (UNC) are on to a stir of
economic blockade on Imphal-Jiribam (NH 37) and Imphal-Dimapur (NH 2) highways then
general people will burn more.
Even possibility of free
and fair elections in Manipur appears bleak as on fresh release ‘The World
Manipuri Organization’ based in Assam along with other organizations of the
community warned of severe retaliation if UNC fails to assure on their counterpart
to abstain from economic road blockade in the future. But UNC unlikely to
attend the talk as proposed by Manipur and Central government in Manipur at
Senapati district as there is no beneficial outcome of the Naga people who are
under the strain of new law and order imposed by the state.
