Moment Of Golden Pride For Assam Came With Blood And Battering Pain of Shiva Thapa

What the hell was going around in Shiva Thapa's bloodied and battered head only he could imagine before sturdily claiming his pride from his opponent by winning 60 kg gold medal at the National Championship in Guwahati.

Only few lightweight boxers attempt to continue with severe cut and powerful knock out in the next round, which Thapa challenged before making the final bout with gold in the boxing Nationals 2016 at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

The degree of cut wound that Shiva Thapa received on forehead would require five stitches to heal him back from his injury.

Just at the tender age of 22 years Shiva after counterfeiting multiple challenges has established his name in golden letters of Assam and national boxing sports history.

If not for 2013 decision by international boxing federation (AIBA) to drop down the idea of using protective headgear then Shiva would not have dared to survive this fatal injury to go for the next level fight.

If not for headstrong decision by Shiva Thapa for the love of his home crowd fans then the referee would have discontinued the match but still he had to confront medical check-up before continuing the next competition.

But improved technology based American branded medical product known as Dermabond tissue adhesive did the magic by sealing the blood flow from Thapa's forehead.

It is not only Shiva who was fighting mentally but even his family, fans, relatives and friends to see him bleeding profusely. But finally the phase was calmed with just two doses of Rs.3500 worth Dermabond glue that potently sealed the torn skin edges.

Opponents looked at his injury as the greatest opportunity to bring him down to defeat which even Thapa was aware beforehand but he had changed his mind-set to tackle the situation to continue finally. What Assam could deserve to have a son like Shiva Thapa with golden principles to never daunt his spirit till he wins the pride for his home land.
