Politicians Barred from Influential Role in Institute



Education is to impart knowledge and structure student's career to make them responsible citizen, let no intrusion of politics overshadow its environment for which certain measures will be undertaken according to Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma Education Minister, Assam.

This decision came before the resume of the first cabinet meeting by Education Minister, Himanta who informed the media that School Management Development Committees (SMDC) must bar political candidate from institute’s authoritative posts.

This bid to dissolve politics from education zones will be observed on 4,000 high schools, higher secondary schools including junior colleges and madrassas according to Himanta.

In the precinct of education zones, politicians should be kept at bay. Political background people should not be allowed to contest for SMDC's president or vice president position. Only graduates will be permitted for the candidature of such posts without any criminal track record.
