Rainy Sunday Dampens Heavy On Public’s Holiday And Bihu Preparation Plan


It was 5:30 am early in the morning yesterday on 7th April when a shower of drizzling rain turned out into a pounding beat of heavy shower that lasted almost an hour, submerging every low lying areas of capital city Guwahati capital city, leaving busy market areas empty which else remains busy and additionally dampening the ongoing Rongali Bihu preparation and process of pre-celebration.


Many market areas remained closed unable to pitch sales due to low turnout of customers for heavy rain in the morning and evening had almost battered roads and flooded many high intensity network areas of Guwahati city like Ganesghguri, Beltola, six miles, Khanapara, Chandmari and Fancy Bazaar including Paltan Bazaar. First time this year the weather forecast happened to be so accurate in its prediction on 7th April's drastic weather condition due to changes of wind direction flowing from Bay of Bengal including hanging strip of cloud on its northern tip.
