Assam Surpassed Karnataka And Telangana To Form With India's TVC Group



Assam in latest entrant with grievance redressal committee group of four Indian states who has come up with the standard of the Street Vendors Act 2014 that is designed to protect vending process with proper regulation in India.


According to this Vendors Act 2014 under Section 20 every states of India must constitute Urban Local Body (ULB) each with one or more Town Vending Committee (TVC) where recently New Delhi has included Assam to the list for settling street vendor issues.


Presently according to the report of the union ministry of housing and urban affairs official only four states Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand including Assam now in latest have organized redressal committee with constitute of chairperson (civil judge or judicial magistrate background) plus additional professions. At current phase India has 2,382 TVCs only for 7,263 ULBs where 42 per cent of it do not bear vendor representatives.
