Recently one of the judicial panel head of National Green Tribunal, the retired judge BP Kakoti had expressed that since certain guidelines could not be framed against coal mining by the Meghalaya Government had urged for CCTV camera installation to monitor illegal processing especially in risky zones.

But recollecting past Jammu and Kashmir’s briyani tiffin blast at bus station raises doubt on this advance monitoring technology because prior to that incident the angle of the CCTV camera  attached to a particular Dhaba was altered from the monitor direction towards the ground angle.

The security of Jammu against terror activities had made proper arrangements to tap hold on illegal processing in the monitored zones with CCTV technology but sometimes miscreants can scrap out the monitor eye which similarly could be the same case with Mining areas as everyone knows mafias related to this trade are highly dangerous to tame them under law.
