Scenario behind Assam government’s land documentation or
patta issue to legal holders has been put on hold as false claim has been
detected by the Kamrup metro administration from the submission of documents by
the claimed indigenous applicant.
Kamrup metro administration on its land re-verification process
has accounted 70% of false land claim as the provided documents are not allegedly
found to be genuine. In the name of indigenous beneficiaries the authority has
detected multiple non-applicant names offline instead of the applicant. But the
fact remains that today after a scrutiny by the authority a group of illegal
claimants are discovered to have pattas and have been enjoying all the
benefits.
