It is true that today even the organized tea groups who have been employing millions feels the heat of emerging small tea growers who are edging in their total output at minimal cost, threatening previous business game statistic.
If not for the government’s plan to boost employment by supporting financially small tea growers then this dramatic change in their turnover would not have been possible, shattering the monopolistic control.
What a small tea grower today requires is a plot of land to start off their business later where they can sell their low finished tea products at a better price without proper branding aspects. Despite small tea growers disadvantages they today proudly acclaims 44% contribution in India’s annual tea revenue.
The reason for their fast escalating growth could be due to lack of social obligation and permanent employee investment burden. On these options small tea growers are enabled to change the previous statistic of benefit impelling even the organized tea sectors to soon change the rules of business for healthy competition.
