2020 Sahitya Akademi Awards winners saw some of the Northeast writers being recognized among other best in India for their valued contribution in literature.
Dr Irungbam Deven from Manipur fetched this prestigious award Sahitya Akademi for his poetic collection Malangbana Kari Hai. Diganta Biswa Sarma from Assam received the award for translating Bharatiya Sanskriti Bhiti from original English Translation.
Manipur’s H Shyamsundar Singh won the award for his translation Athum Athao Yonba Nupa. Apurba Kumar Saikia and late Dharanidhar Owari recognized for their great contribution in the field of literature.
