Assam Government’s Elevating Mission

Assam government has planned three elevated roads with animal underpass to secure the precious Kaziranga green environment surrounded with wild life backdrop.

Elevated corridor project of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarm comprises of animal underpass, tunnels, rope bridge, two watch towers with 100 metre viewpoints. At NH-37 of Kaziranga three elevated road projects will be conducted from Rangolu to Deopani about 18.810 kms, Harmoti to Hatikhuli about 11.476 kms and Panbari to Borjuri 4.91 kms.

 

This huge project will display elevated roads with footpath of 1.5 metre, Cycle track lane of 2 metre width and carriage way of 11 metre. The overall width of the wild life friendly elevated road will be 18 metres.

 

This project which was prepared by the state PWD in corporation with the Wild Life Institute of India, Dehradun has been sent to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for approval is estimated to cost Rs, 2,500 crore in accordance to 2016 layout
