Massive Setback For Assam As Tea Industrialist Passes

Jalan Group of tea industry’s head Mahadeo Jalan who was instrumental in communicating with the government about tea industry’s management and worker’s plight, demised in Dibrugarh private clinic whereas cremation took place at Chowkidinghee .

This magnet of Assam Tea Industry was a crucial player in sport and education development including generous contribution to social welfare projects for the advancement of Dibrugarh.

Mahadeo Jalan born in Tinsukia on 24th November, 1935 before he established in Dibrugarh, his life fluctuated from Assam and Kolkata, West Bengal. Condolence from Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, Central Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister Rameshwar Teli, Sports personalities, media and others flooded in towards Jalan’s family at his death news.
