Home Minister Amit Shah clears
the cloud on special status provision that Article 371 entitles and assured that
at present there is no such decision to be undertaken to all the parties and
organizations of Northeast who are threatened by Centre’s possibility to make
changes to it.
In this connection Northeast
state Sikkim was first to seek assurance from the centre that the norms of special
Article 371 (F) status remains intact, enshrined under will not be disturbed.
Nagaland and Mizoram from
Northeast also have the same doubt that the NDA government may debar them from
enjoying this right. It is a privilege to be in India and enjoy this special
status under Article 371 in Northeast to help secure their tribal culture.
