Following Supreme Court’s order to various states of India including Assam has implemented this rule to evict dwellers who do not have authentic evidences to stay in forest areas of Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Odisha, Telengana, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
One who claims to have FRA evidence has the right to live in forest area under Assam government new law as directed by the Supreme Court where about 22,398 scheduled tribe plus 5,136 OTFD’s FRA submission have gone under rejection.
