the Prime Minister of India who had launched this IPPB (India Post Payment Bank)
for cashless and digital economic network from rural areas to the main business
activity centers of the nation has also got its face-lift in its Northeastern
zones like Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, 31st
August.
In Assam IPPB
was launched by the honorable Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Guwahati, whereas
in Nagaland it was launched by the Chief Secretary R. Binchillo Thong in Kohima
and Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu launched it in Itanagar.
It is in the
best interest of the rural people to ensure safe cashless monetary operation without
taking the hurdles to run to far off places and benefit government financial scheme support at one place. According IPPB
plan NE about 26 branches will be launched in rural areas of Assam wherein 26,00
villages, 800 tea gardens, 2400 sar areas of Brahmaputra and Barak valley will
be assured Post Office’s advanced facility.
This new avaatar
of Post Banking that is infused with latest technology will commence its official
activities from December 2018 and ensure 93 % access points for cashless
transaction. In Arunachal Pradesh 10 branches of Postal Department will be
availed with coverage of 50 access points in the entire state.
