Brahmaputra and Rest Tributaries Can Flush Out More Problems in Assam

Break of long period of incessant rain in major parts of Assam have receded the water level in flood affected areas but Brahmaputra still pose as threat to many places as its rising water can take into grip many places.

The scenario of devastation has calmed to an extent and lives are returning back to its normalcy in Assam. But weather condition still remains to be unpredictable. Government is still yet to estimate on loss of lives and properties as water level has not receded fully.

Painful part is that villages near to rivers are bearing the brunt extensively as villager’s livelihood remains on farming where water is an incumbent factor. Is it an impossible or possible task to avert such natural catastrophe by 2017? Is it a big challenge for the Assam including rest of India affected by flood?

Goalpara, Dhubri, Tezpur, Nematighat and Guwahati are not lifted from danger sign of rising water of Brahmaputra. But the reason of rising water in Brahmaputra is not solely due to incessant rain accumulation but due to inundated multiple small to big river tributaries’ flush of water into it.

Upper Assam’s Jorhat, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur and Golaghat Lower Assam’s Barpeta, Darrang and Dhubri are stated to be caught in the worst fury of nature comparatively to rest affected districts.

If negligence to nature still remains unattended, it is human who will be backfired for threatening the entire eco system by causing violent acts like cutting of hills, trees, rock and earth including improper tilling of earth, water outlets and drainage system.

We have waited and watched for every possible challenge against nature’s overgrowing abnormalities and played many a blame game. But what if we all end up without any possible major initiative and solution to avert this?

Situation like fire outbreak or human mishap outbreak should not be sided confidently as not a frequent case, for greater mishaps do not comes with prior warning. Question is where from central or govt could today reach to every flood affected people among corers reeling under flood water? Feasible answer is act first be it opponent or ruling party or affected people or general,  for priority is love for country not achieving power or avenging with words. Without land and people, there is no point of playing power game.

Today entire world knows India’s catastrophic flood condition where Assam’s situation remains highly grim. Only benevolent and united approach of science and politics can see better 2017.
