Revamp International Air Transit Point for Northeast Soon


LGBI (Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International airport) will get a revamped outlook by the end of 2016 to facilitate more international flights transaction from Northeast according to Civil Aviation Ministry.

Already Singapore Tiger Air and Biman Bangladesh have made their strategy to include their zones at LGBI according to official report. Even IndiGo is waiting for green signal from the Aviation Ministry for execution of foreign service.

Quite optimistic about the success of this dynamic plan, LGBI, Director JS Balhara added, "Biman Bangladesh wants to start daily flights from Dhaka to Guwahati whereas Tigerair is keen to connect flights from South East Asia and Dubai.

To accomplish this big challenge to revamp the present airport in international outlook, amount of Rs. 930 crore will be invested. There will separate air transit points plus five times larger terminal points. Demand of international airport in Assam is feasible as per to passenger transit report, 25 lakhs people make their transit from this point leveraging annual revenue of 8 percent.
