The present condition does not allow for complete layout of the massive 4.9 km rail-cum-road Bogibeel bridge in Assam as it is scheduled for execution by the end month of 2017 according to Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain.

As per to the survey of the area the Bogibeel project is fit to be launched by March 2018 where twenty one spans already had been erected under the initiative of Indian Railway. As per to the project about two spans of 32.75 metres each including 39 spans of 125 metres each will be implemented to give dimension to this massive project.

Estimation of the cost to give completion would go up from initial rough up figure Rs 1,767 crore to Rs 4,996 crore as project will include advanced features like  three traffic lanes at upper deck for vehicle movements including twin lines at lower deck  for uninterrupted train motion.
