A kind of negligence seems to have created the tragedy of the popular South Coast floating restaurant as it remained closed for months due to pandemic where the Inland Water Transport (IWT) department estimates the cause to be due to hole in the barge’s hull that sunk it.
The strong undercurrent of the dangerously swelling river Brahmaputra posed to be threat that sunk the floating restaurant South Coast within an hour in the morning. Luckily one live was saved while standing at the barge after the huge boat sank at the bosom of the Brahmaputra.
