Foreigners’ Tribunals directed not to pass orders for the detention or deportation of the declared foreigners as the quasi judicial bodies to undertake the task as newly authorized by the government.
This pause on the activities of the foreigners’ tribunals was ordered on 4th September by the Assam government, presently they can no longer pass judgment but can send their opinion as it will help in detention decision making.
