In a new strategy to combat tobacco content products the Assam Chamber of Commerce, Consumer Voice, New Delhi and the Consumers’ Legal Protection Forum, Assam pointed that tobacco sale near educational institution should be restricted.
Even they emphasized to the targeted section of people to reform youngsters’ habit of tobacco consumption.
Assam Chamber of Commerce chairman Rupanam Goswmi marked that the enforcement agencies should intervene into this grave matter as alone the new COPTA Amendment won’t be effective for fruitful in this mission.
The government and NGO’s should intensify awareness campaign against tobacco consumption. It is also the responsibility of the retailers to project the youngsters’ lives according to Ajoy Hazarika the advocate and secretary of Consumer’s Legal Protection Forum, Assam.
