In an unpredictable phase of devastating flood in Assam that restrains many to meet the deadline of NRC verification date, the centre understanding the grim factor of the scenario is likely to extend the last date of NRC draft release as it is the question of 25 lakhs people.
An NRC official Guwahati stated, “Flood or nature’s hurdle’ we can say that has slowed our verification process as the turnout of people for re-verification have streamlined unable to overcome the hurdle of flood. The process has become tedious as they have to wait till the flood victim regain his or her documents due to wave of flood.”
At the Rajya Sabha the home ministry informed about their contemplation to extend NRC verification deadline from the said deadline that is July 31 for fair immigration process to finally settle the matter without major error after flood situation. This strictness of law will remain intact where the detected immigrants will be transferred to their respective country.
