The central government under the initiation of the Supreme Court are in the attempt to revive the Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project which operation had remained stalled for past many years.
The Centre has already agreed with its recommendations though the hydropower project on the Subansiri river evolving from the mouth of Arunachal Pradesh is under various legal issues due to which its development have lapsed.
Already NGT’s expert committee has reviewed upon the crucial hurdle of positioning the dam due to follow up of environmental damage to Assam by concentrating on its major aspect the dam’s design outlook to reduce fatality in low lying villages in its close proximity. It is the main reason due to which the project had received severe hurdle and criticism from various groups of Assam.
But now after close scrutiny the Environment Forest and Climate Change has given green signal on Subansiri dam proceeding to the expert committee undertaking its development process.
