Potential Coal Base Margerita Of Tinsukia Brings Huge Loss To Assam Government Revenue

Assam government keeping on close toes to illegal coal trading in its potential coal base of  Margerita division, Tinsukia district has decided to take action for bringing huge revenue loss to the state by pocketing in greater profit without observing tax norms.


Figuring only few coke coal bhattas (kiln oven plant) under three gaon panchayats of Margherita division process pilfered coal trade legally whereas rest traders are doing coal trading with Northeastern Coal Fields without providing proper taxes to Assam Government.


The Assam government on a close speculation had located crores rupees loss in state revenue due to lakhs tonnes of pilfered coal consumption in illicit manner without observing any GST norms by the unauthentic traders. Illicit coal traders even violates pollution board of Assam for causing harm to the eco-system.
