Manipur can never forget the dreadful impact hurled during
the phase of World War-II when Japan invaded its borders, focusing on the
gruesome battle’s reminiscence that is left on its existent war commentary, INA memorial complex and museum the state is
willing to make it as an attractive essence of its tourism.
People from Japan still pour in Manipur to pay their last
respect to their lost ones during the phase of World War II. Manipur Tourism department has taken a
special task to add highlight on World War –II reminiscence to attract the
curious visitors looking for historical facts on battles. In perspective to this the centre for
Entrepreneurship and Skill Development (CESD) Manipur University and the World
war Imphal campaign Foundation have come up collaboratively to highlight “War
Tourism: Prospect and challenges in Manipur”.
CESD, Director Chongtham Ibohal at this interactive World War
II tourism venue at the MU Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development
conference hall, Imphal stated it is time to boost this industry by keeping in
track of unique, important and attractive destinations of the state that would
drive in more tourist interest.
