Amidst Confusion Re-Poll To Conclude After Massive Voter’s Turnout In Assam Panchayat Election

Polling after NRC (National Registration Citizen) law implementation has created polling fever in Assam as people are in the nerve whether they had been delisted from voter’s list and claim for citizenship right during the first phase of Assam Panchayat election.

It is after Panchayat election in Assam people have came to light whether their names have been de-listed by the NRC authority. In many cases people are agitated that they have been de-listed and in some places the polling process was disrupted due to various issues. In this process re-polling has become incumbent on people’s demand.

Expectation of higher percentage of voter’s turnout in the final polling is analyzed by the State Election commissioner Harendra Nath Bora. Already the situation in Assam is tensed as many people have found themselves de-listed from voting whereas in certain cases it is detected that the polling phase not been processed due to various reasons in both lower and upper Assam so the turnout in the second phase is likely to exceed.
