Railway is a lifeline of
Manipur to boost economic and tourism growth where the Indian Railway Catering
and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) made a pact with the government to advance its services
for greater customer drive.
As per to the Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) between IRCTC and the Manipur government, selected areas
will be chosen for catering services including vendors outlet, economic hotels
provision, handicraft shops and others.
Tourism development and
enhanced productivity will remain as centrifugal part according to the MoU pact
signed by IRCTC. Chairman and Managing Director of IRCTC, A K Manocha added
that this MoU pact will include Self Help Groups (SHGs) at catering points,
lounge provision, tourist welcome point, water vending machine installation and
Rail Neer packed water services.
