Nagaland and Assam have a combo
relationship of sweet and sour as they are ready to shed blood when border land
conflict comes and mitigate to commemorate previous cultural ties.
One of the reasons for Assam and
Nagaland to melt tension for friendship is 'Moitree festival,' to share
exclusive space to celebrate friendship. Recently 'Moitree festival' was
conducted at Amguri tea estate playground of Sivasagar, Assam between the neighboring
districts of the two states.
This initiative to bridge better
ties between two states through stage of socio-cultural activity event was
undertaken by the district administrations of the two states.
On this friendship event
Mokokchung, Nagaland's DC Susil Kumar Patel and Sivasagar, Assam's DC Narayan
Konwar made their presence to boost the participants who came to pour warmth
into this relation that publicly often remains shunned.
Many higher officials from both
the districts like SP, ADC came to jell with cross border people and celebrate
past traditional activities to strengthen ties with songs, dances, games
including football match participation.
There were many dignitaries who
attended the festival which was inaugurated by MLA Pradip Hazarika of Amguri,
Sivasagar. In which everyone expressed their desire to revive their past
brothers and sisters’ relationship through stage of more benevolent activities
in the future.
