Nagaland to Enlarge its Micro Size for Greater Revenue

Futuristic plan to position the main commercial transaction point of Nagaland, the Dimapur Railway Station as A+ category, the government is planning to initiate its infrastructure development work.

It has been assessed that this key transaction point of Northeast which has not broadened up its function for years is soon to stage it as A+ category rail junction according to railway authority. Lumding Division Divisional Commercial Manager, RN Ranmung stated that way back in 2003 the station had been categorized as A+ but it has to meet earning of Rs 60 corer to process extension of infrastructure work. This required target has been fulfilled during the span of 2015 to 2016.

PRS and UTS railway earning of Dimapur Railway Station have exceedingly jumped up to 10 % plus that helped it to get green signal to process installation of required amenities for public convenience. Including uniform set up of dustbins that is proposed to set up with joint effort of the vendors and railway authority to maintain regular cleanliness and hygiene in its vicinity.

Current demands apart from above are that this busy railway transaction point should be accessed with vital factors for convenient 24 hours services like proper electricity inflow, drinking water supply, extension of platforms from current figure of three, M/E train point, 21 M/E pairs stoppages, Lumding to Tinsukia passenger train, additional PRS counters and user feedback access.

DCM of Nagaland mentioned that for proper set up of the railway infrastructure it is important to establish zonal and divisional railway users consultative committees. For convenient interaction with users to receive their valued suggestions on successful accomplishment of this mission.

Public will be availed with direct connectivity with the members of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) and Divisional Users Consultative Committee (DUCC)to understand feasible matters that are interrelated to successfully progress railway extension development process.
