Racing
ahead like uncontrolled wind, overtaking and ramming on to public property
recklessly the traffic violators fail to understand that they are not betting
their lives but equivalently draining their money in fine. Numbness of the
violators has enabled the traffic department to cream out handsome amount near
Rs 10 corer since 2013. Last year traffic violators had contributed 2.9 corer
what they think are cool?
Traffic
violations cases have peaked alarmingly in the statewide with registrations of
85,000 cases in last year itself according to the department’s analysis report.
More than 1000 cases of accidents followed with 200 plus loss of lives. The
24/7 drivers falling in categories of truck driving and public vehicle driving
are registered to be the highest grosser of traffic violation.
The
imposed traffic speed limits is 30-40 km/hour which is hardly observed by any
vehicle drivers in Assam as people are in competition to reach ahead and you
won’t know when suddenly from the wrong
side overtakes you.
Despite
of interceptor vehicles for tracking reckless and drunken drivers, hardly any
drastic changes to the traffic scenario could be witnessed though there is
decline of violation cases from 1,18,696 in 2014 to 85,458 in 2015 was found.
