Manipuri Faith Erects Fallen Tree

Unique in faith bounded to an age old simple mango tree which was uprooted by devastating storm at Luker Mayai Leikai village of Manipur was restored to its normal position by a powerful crane.

 

This crane effort cost 1 lakh for the villagers of Imphal West to reback their worship process by replanting the mango tree.

Imphal Airport Seeks Success In Capturing Rs. 5.76 cr Gold

In a major effort Imphal International Airport officials were successful in detecting a major stock of 65 gold bars worth Rs. 5.76 crore that is to be smuggled to Delhi by a 33 year man Wangkhem Ibungobl Singha.

The 10 Kg gold smuggler was caught when he was bound to fly by Air Asia, Delhi by the custom officials of the airport on specific tip off received beforehand.

State To Boost Revenue Collection From Minerals Assessed

Project of assessment and estimation of district wise major and minor minerals in the state to be conducted by the Directorate of Geology & Mining under the Mines & Minerals Department, Government of Assam to facilitate collection of revenue in correct respective rates.

 

Assam is rich in sand as there are many rivers and the directorate is working on a scientific sand mining policy to classify based on quality.

Garbage Clearance HasBecome A Big Issue In Guwahati

Few minutes heavy downpour, garbage in heap clogs the drain outlet unable to flush out excess water creates misery as the affected area pools in.

Residents of the affected areas complains lack of dustbins and erratic doorstep collection of garbage. Scattered garbage flush out by heavy rains block the drain outlets. Drain blockade for years in Rukiminigaon area has remained unsolved due to human made faults that go unattended and due to which the area pools after few minutes when heavy rain slashes the area.

50,000 Commuters A Day By Cable Car Service To Be Made Possible In Assam

It is a dream mission of the state government of Assam to layout plans for cable service to upheld the task of growing traffic issue with 50,000 commuters a day where WAPCOS, a Government of India enterprise to carry out the survey for the project.

Guwahati Development Department has initiated project with WAPCOS to control traffic in busy areas where flyover implementation could be a greater chaos. Cable car project would start by the end of this year.

Waterways Emphasis Further Boosted In Northeast For Economic Expansion

To boost economic growth in entire Northeast the Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inked six memorandums of understandings (MoUs) at the two day Waterways Conclave 2022 that was held in Chowkidinghee ground.

On the grand moment of waterways agreement Bhutan Minister of Economic Affairs Lyonpo Loknath  Ranjan Singh, Sharma, Dr Rajkumar, Manipur Minister of Water Resources Awangbo NewMai, Rameshwar Teli and representatives from Inland Waterways Authority of  India (IWAI) were also present. According to Union Minister of Waterways Sarbananda the main objective of inking these MoU pacts is to boost international trading with neighboring countries through waterways connection with North Eastern states.

World Health Day Observed The Requirement Of Healthy Environment

On the deteriorating fact of environment that is causing threat to health was highlighted on event of World Heath Day in Guwahati by the Department of Community Medicine, Guahati Medical College and Hospital in association with the Rotary Club of Guwahati Icon.

Manipur Boost Free Health Service

More than 83,000 people of Manipur received benefits with free hospitalization aid of Rs. 2 Lakh under the four year old State health scheme known as Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (or Chief Minister’s health assistance – CMHT) which amount has been further upgraded to Rs. 5 Lakh as announced by the Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

Health card availed with cashless treatment upto Rs. 2 Lakh per family per year for seven critical illness have been provided to eligible households. First of its kind in the Northeast ” Health for All,” a door-to-door health screening scheme for primary health care and chronic disease management has been introduced  with coverage of 300 villages and likely to cover all villages according to the Chief Minister Biren Singh.

Covaxin Supply To Be Affected!

In a blow to Bharat Biotech who produced Covaxin drug against corona the World Health Organisation (WHO) confirms suspension of the product sold through UN procurement agencies.

This decision by WHO is in response to the outcomes of its post Emergency Use Authorisation (EUL) inspection that was held between 14th and 22nd March, 2022. According to WHO there is requirement for facility upgrade to address recently identified GMP (good manufacturing practice) deficiencies but still Covaxin is stated to be effective and no safety tension exist.
