Is Insurgency Rate In Assam Hills To End?

Recent tripartite pact between Centre, state government and insurgent Assam Hills’ five zones comprising of Karbi Longri North Cachar Hills Liberation Front, United People’s Liberation Army, People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri, Karbi people’s Liberation Tigers and Kuki Liberation front  can be regarded as the end to the cause of insurgency.

According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah there is reason for enduring peace and end to insurgency as after this agreement between the Centre and Assam Hill’s five zones the financial stress for development in the region will be uplifted with privilege of sufficient seats reserve.

As per to this peace pact there will be allotment of Rs. 1000 crore for Karbi Anglong’s development with increase of seats from 26 to 50 in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). This helped to make a historic move of tripartite pact with Karbi under the leadership of PM Modi after successful negotiation with the Bru and NDFB insurgents according to Himanta Biswa Sarma Assam Chief Minister
